How to position your CV for specialist roles
A good CV makes it easier for someone to understand your scope, outcomes and relevance quickly. It does not need to contain every project you have ever touched.
Back to blogLead with role-relevant context
Start with the functions, sectors or systems most relevant to the target roles. This helps a recruiter or hiring manager orient themselves quickly.
Highlight outcomes, not just duties
Scope is useful, but results are what make your experience easier to compare. Include improvements, savings, delivery metrics or leadership impact where possible.
Keep the narrative consistent
Your CV, LinkedIn profile and interview story should broadly support one another. Inconsistency creates unnecessary doubt.
